Scholarship Essay Contest International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) seeks to recruit a postdoctoral scientist to conduct research on how the integration of water management for the different landscape components (livestock, crops, trees, and human settlement patterns) can lead to benefits for livelihoods and environment in the Nile Basin, Ethiopia. Depending on the profile of successful candidates for this position will contribute to (i) develop a scenario for how the landscape may evolve and the implications for the productivity of water, health, ecosystems and livelihoods, (ii) to analyze the performance and impact of local learning networks and / or (iii) assess the impact of life and poverty widespread adoption of rainwater management strategies of different positive strategies to support the design. This research will be cross-discipline that involves aspects of livestock production, agronomy, soil science, water management and livelihood analysis.
